ceramic gargoyles
What would you hate to lose and what's worth protecting? 8th graders are thinking about this question as they learn about gargoyles and Gothic period architecture.
Originally gargoyles were ferocious sculptures added to cathedrals to frighten away evil and played the functional role of being waterspouts. Students are tasked to design and build a clay gargoyle perched on top of a container to protect something important to them. |
