After looking and drawing from observation, you will be thinking about what you can sculpt from a piece of paper. The challenge in this project will be to use repetition to create and assemble an abstract sculpture that is interesting from all sides.

6th Grade Students will...
- Write and draw about the difference in a shape and a form in their sketchbooks
- Use 5 pieces of paper to practice folding 4 forms shown in class and one they invent on their own
- Build 30 small pieces of the form they like the best
- Construct 12 medium pieces of the same form
- Write and draw about balance in their sketchbooks
- Create an abstract paper sculpture using all of the pieces
- Build a sculpture that is balanced and interesting to look at from all sides
- Stage and photograph the final sculpture
- Sign the work
- Complete a writing reflection
