Oil Pastel Group Drawing
How do artists collaborate, use proportion, and experiment with color? In this group drawing assignment, each student was given a different portion of an image to complete with oil pastels, and the pieces were combined to recreate an image of a painting by the artist Janet Fish.
Students will…
- Explore proportion by mapping out shapes and lines
- Transfer and enlarge an image of a piece of Janet Fish’s painting "Blue Decanter, Polka Dot Bowl"
- Experiment with oil pastels and color mixing
- Layer at least 3 colors in 3 spaces in each piece of the puzzle
- Collaborate to form and install the group drawing
